Why Are There So Many Dating Rumors About SM Idols?

Why do SM Entertainment artists get caught up in dating rumors so often?

In an online community, some Korean netizens have decided to tackle that question with a post titled, “The reason why SM idols have a lot of dating scandals.” The reason, the netizen argued, is because SM’s Executive Producer, Lee Soo Man, encourages his idols to date each other.

In the post the netizen put up screenshots from the February 9 broadcast of MBC’s “Golden Fishery- Radio Star” where former SES member Shoo and Super Junior’s Kim Hee Chul talked about dating within the company. On the show the two of them confirmed that their boss Lee Soo Man actively supports dating within the company.

The MC Yoon Jong Shin asked Kim Hee Chul, “Is there a lot of dating outside the agency?” To which Kim Hee Chul replied, “Do people not usually date within the company?”

When MC Kim Gu Ra commented, “They date inside and outside the company”, Shoo made a surprising announcement. “Actually, the company pushes for dating within the company.”

When the MC expressed their surprise and doubt, Kim Hee Chul confirmed by quoting Lee Soo Man, “Yes, dating within the company is better. It is more comfortable for us and if a scandal erupts we can control it better.”

Sulli said her similar personality with Gujaehee was that she's a little timid and many thoughts in mind despite she looked active. the different one was that Gujaehee was bold enough to cut her hair but she was not..

Q: If Gujaehee exists in real life, will you like her?

Minho: Yes. since she sacrifices herself for me and comes all the way long to cheer for me as well. if that kind of woman really exists, I'll be attracted to her and definetly like her.

Q: What is your ideal type?

Minho: well, for me, it's the girl whose personality fits well with me and who can wait and understand me, so I can tell Gujaehee is a lot similar to my ideal type.

Q: this was the test about how much you are lovely and your test says you're 50% lovely..

Sulli: (laugh)

Q: although you can do mildang (mind game), basically you tend to have a frank date and wish to do that.

Sulli: That seems correct..(laugh)

Q: sometimes there's a chance you result in fail after straighforwardly attempting to try(about love), but if two of you fit perfectly (sparkle), your relationship will deepen so fast.

Sulli: That's right. I'm not good at doing mildang (it means "push and pull" in Korean) (laugh) Thank you!!!!

Sulli: there were lots of crying scenes for me . but my best rememberable scene is the one I hugged taejoon crying so hard. at that time both of us really cried hard with overwhelemed emotions coz when I looked at crying Taejoon, I couldn't help crying. Minho oppa and I have a common thing of being sad and crying when looking at crying people. We much counted on each other at that time....

Q: what's the line that impressed you ?

Minho: well, the impressing line is (laighing) .... there's several ... when I first met jaehee , I picked up her underware saying to jaehee " what a unique taste you have!" I'll never forget the line and scene..

Q: tell me the reason why you think it's memorable line.

Minho: that's because of my first line when first meeting jaehee. so, I can't forget it.

Sulli: I remember Minho oppa's line... when I decided to leave the school, taejoon grabbed my arm saying" Don't leave"

the reason I remember it most is that oppa always played a joke to me with the line . when I finished my scene and was about to leave sayin to staff "Keep up the good work", oppa always said to me "Don't leave me Gujaehee" (laugh)

Minho: Sulli is my dongseng I've known well and hoobae I cherished and liked as well. since we've felt very comforatable to each other, we could express our scenes so well in the drama , and it made us so easily to act , too. I really thank Sulli for that. And during shooting, we became so close and reached the extent of telling each other's concern and communicating easily with each other as well . even when the drama is over, sulli still remains as my pretty dongseng and I really appreciate that..

Q: Has your impression about Sulli changed after this drama?

Minho: I would say It's more like I got to know her better than before coz I realized her concerns and thoughts after talking to her, and we became very close enough to feel comfortable rather than saying my impression about Sulli. I mean I'm still getting to know Sulli better (Minho is very cautious about this part)

so, we can become more comfortable and have much chat about our concern as brother and sister..I'm happy about that. (smile)

sulli: Yes, we've become very close friends just like real brother and siter (smile). we are still keeping in touch and checking how we are..

opppa still looked very busy after drama coz he went abroad to perform, so I sent him lots of text messages saying "cheer up, oppa"

Q: Minho said two of you became close enough to talk private issues...

Sulli: That's right. we talked about them a lot..(laugh with shy).. when I had grumps, oppa listened me up well and became a good supporter for me during shooting and even when the drama was over.

Q: there's a kiss scene with Minho, wasn't it a bit shy?

Sulli: Yes, I was shy..since he was oppa I've known before, oh no ...he was just sunbae in the same company at that time..

I said to myself " I've never imagine myself kissing Minho oppa" and then I said to Minho oppa that I didn't know I faced this kissing moment with thim.

oppa said " Right,, I didn't know I could kiss Sulli, either.." (laugh) although there was an awkward moment in kiss scene,

we did very good job.. Frankly speaking I got used to kiss scenes after many times, so I didn't feel any shy..

Minho: well, at first it was OK.. but since the kiss scene required many times, I was rather a bit shy as time went by..

P.S: @teruteru_chan thank you so much ... and the "tame" thing... there's Korean saying "Love is taming" in a good way...it's more like "give in"

lovers (men and women in love) like to tame and be tamed... means getting more similar tastes and looks when they're in love...so, it'll be so hard to fall in love again with someone else after they broke up coz they're so tamed to each other..

[MinSul] When Something REEL Turned Into Something REAL

Suddenly I find the time to write again about our OTP Minho and Sulli, or best known as MinSul by the shippers. With cute evidences already presented, but not yet proven, because there is no confirmation yet from MinSul, I decided to put my analysis just to make our minds wonder and believe that there's something more beyond meets the eye.

When something reel turned to something real. How can it happen? 

As oppa/dongsaeng relationship...



Let's backtrack again. Minho and Sulli are handled by the same agency/company which is SM Entertainment. They joined their respective group very early, Minho in his middle school while Sulli was still a grader. Both SHINee and f(x), their group are already familiar with each other. They of course practice maybe in the same studio, bumped into each other in hallways, attend meetings when summoned by the company and of course when there are events inside the agency. They do a lot of events together, TV shows, guesting and we can see from fancams and videos that both group are close like they are siblings. Minho once addressed Sulli as his dongsaeng. Not just dongsaeng but his favorite among f(x). He said this during a radio interview. Said Sulli is cute.

While Sulli is one of the youngest in SM, almost all her hyungs even in Super Junior, treated her like a precious sister. You can see how some of them always seemed protective of her during concerts. Because Sulli is such a sweet, beautiful girl.

From dongsaeng to leading lady...

To The Beautiful You came and the roles were given to Sulli and Minho to act as the leads playing a romantic role... first love.



Sure there would be awkwardness between these two young actors. Although they are already familiar with each other, acting in love is very different. Roles have to be learned, characters have to be absorbed to be acted perfectly and also to understand the character. Skinship can not be avoided. Holding each others hands, back hugging, piggy back and the intimate part, kissing. Between two young people who I assumed has never been in a real life relationship, and treating each other like sibling, these kind of scenarios will surely  flutter each others heart unknowingly, surprisingly.



Emotions can not be stopped or controlled like a machine. I think that Sulli and Minho were given the drama because everyone see the chemistry between them even in simple photo shoots. I saw how they look good on their previous works. There's something about them that makes you smile and say, They look good together!.

How could I know that maybe both of them feels something more towards each other even before the drama. Fan accounts were posted on how Minho was so sweet to Sulli, even they had a spat or something like that and Minho tried to cheer up Sulli. if you already read my earlier posts, you know what I'm talking about. So it would not seem impossible if while filming TTBY, a closer friendship developed. The talks and playing around  in between  takes which were captured in camera as BTS, the NG's kissing scenes that were repeatedly shot, comfortable hugging...all these could progress into a beautiful relationship.



From Reel to Real...

This is only my POV. Not a fact. But likely to happen. After TTBY, they were seen in more events, even though I'm sure the company tried to minimize Sulli and Minho being together alone. They were always in groups and sometimes far from each other. But there were some events that they were seen seated together, talking only with each other, and some fancams showing they walked side by side or Minho behind Sulli at airports. These little interactions can not be dismissed easily as nothing, because, there might be something real about them.



Sulli after TTBY is always wearing this necklace even during events. Perhaps, it is something special, given by someone special. Whoever it was, I still don't know. Maybe Minho, maybe not.

While recently, Minho is always holding his mobile phone. Even when he is being interviewed and at airports, he seemed he can not part with his mobile phone. Sulli is always seen, too texting while on her way to airports or somewhere. Both are in love with their mobile phones at the moment. Who knows, they are sending messages to each other. A great probability, possibility.

Could something reel turn to something real?

With all these facts, I say facts because what I wrote are true, [besides my opinion] it could happen. From reel to real, there is a chance to fall in love. Young hearts can be easily fluttered by something "first". And as for two kids who used to see each other as siblings, first skinship and intimate kiss could really make them realize that they feel something more towards each other.

I am just glad that MinSul did TTBY, because it was where it all began.:))

Got to say that this photo says a lot! Never have to confirm, but seeing them here are enough to convey to us that all is well and we are on the right track!

It’s been a long time. How have you been?
I was active as an actor through last year. It was a good experience and I felt a lot of things. If I’m given an opportunity, I would like to try acting again. Anyway, I’m highly satisfied with my personal life. Every day is enjoyable and exciting.

Quite a lot of time has passed since you debuted and you’ve mainly done music promotions.
Thanks to that, I was able to try all kinds of music. I wanted to show various types of music while adding SHINee’s color in them.

How would you rate yourself as an artist?
Compared to the early days of my debut, I feel a lot more relaxed when I do broadcasts. I still think I’m incredibly lacking to even give myself a score.

How do you feel with your comeback ahead?
With my variety of experiences as a foundation, I want to show the fans an awesome performance. We’ll want to display SHINee’s diverse charms that seems like five but is actually one.

Tell us about your new album.
We tried out something that nobody has tried. And of course we worked hard to add in SHINee’s color. When you listen to the music, you’ll feel, “Definitely SHINee.”

My thoughts as a MINSUL shipper

FYFB brought changes to his life. I believe that he felt it was a good experience and at the same time he felt a lot of things because finally, working with his dongsaeng, he realized something new and awesome. He is experiencing this new feeling with excitement, that's why he is enjoying every minute, everyday of his life in satisfaction. [Sulli sure brings happiness to him and the relationship seems to be smooth sailing. Of course, the closeness so far is very visible and even though it is not confirmed, both are exuding an "in love" aura.

I like his way of answering interviews, very mature despite his age.

[MinSul] Similar Things Photo Update

MinSul couple's charm is like a virus! After TTBY, the popularity of both SHINee and f(x) exploded, thanks to Minho and Sulli. Though they are already popular, but the tandem of MinSul reached even the non k-pop follower and some fans who don't know both group now become a follower of both. Isn't it awesome? 

Now, to continue my quest for the truth if I shipped them correctly, here's some photos of them captured with some similar things to compare. This was shared via MinSul thread by me, last night and some Minsullians, and the photos are not mine. Credit on logo.

As I was posting last night, I happen to notice the similarity of their sunglasses. And I think @ravissant also pointed them out, which made my analysis correct. 





Then I also shared that Sulli is holding on to her mobile phones nowadays, especially at airports.  I already posted something like this on my previous MinSul facts. Waiting for someone to send text messages or calls.



Hmmm and Minho-ssi is also busy with his mobile phone.

[Minho and Sulli] For The Love of MinSul : MINSUL LOGO/WATERMARK PROJECT

Thank you for giving your time and joining in the previuos  project posted here. It was a concept made by Minsullians [Minsul shippers] @MinSul thread via soompi.com to make shipping as fun as it can be. The camaraderie in the thread is awesome and this is all for the love of uri MinSul.

Mslee is once again in the mood for making fanvids.
