Photos of actor Gong Yoo grabbed attention when he was seen wearing a stylish suit while filming in front of a camera.

On September 19, an online community posted photos of the actor captioned, “Gong Yoo’s CF Shooting Pose”.

Gong Yoo exuded an autumn feel while wearing a brown colored suit. These photos are from a commercial shooting. In fact, he was filming a commercial for the new Samsung “Fire and Marine Insurance “Superplus”.

Netizens commented on the photos saying, “Seeing Gong Yoo makes me want to sign up right away”, “‘A modeling advertisement I would trust’”, and ” Even thought the photos are small Gong Yoo still looks cool”.

Gong Yoo was recently cast in a crime thriller movie titled, “The Suspect“. This film is about a North Korean man who was once a top agent betrayed by his own country. He then becomes a top suspect in a murder case, and sets out to clear his name.

Big Unveils Lee Min Jung and Gong Yoo Couple Shot

 Drama-date stills showing Gong Yoo and Lee Min Jung were revealed from the upcoming drama “Big.” The two are shown holding hands and each holding a can of coffee in their other hands. The two are portraying a couple that has just begun their relationship.

Lee Min Jung’s character “Gil Da Ran” is commenting, “Your hands are warm.”

The filming for the date scene went long into the night, and it is being said that people living around the area were all watching the two stars. Some people living in apartments in the area even used binoculars to see Gong Yoo and Lee Min Jung.

The basic storyline is of an 18 year old switching his body with a 30 year old doctor. Gong Yoo will play “Seo Yoon Jae” who is the boy trapped in the doctor’s body. Lee Min Jung will play the doctor’s fiancé “Gil Da Rin.”

Gong Yoo, who will take on the role of the thirty-something year old Seo Yoon-je who is possessed by a teen spirit, imitates the teens rough way of talking very well.

On the role of teacher Gil Da-ran, played by Lee Min-jeong whose fiancé is Seo Yoon-je shot out random poses and lines well.
 "Big" is to be released in June this year.

Actor Gong Yoo was captured on camera in the streets of Kangnam. It was an early morning, he had just come out of a coffee shop with a coffee in one hand and a sandwich in the other. As soon as he made his way out, he was captured by the cameras of the paparazzi, or so you thought.

The photo is actually from the pictorial Gong Yoo is doing for the ‘Coffee and Desert’ cafe, ‘Mango Six’. Star photographer Hong Jang Hyun took charge of the pictorial and one of the concept happens to be the ‘paparazzi’ concept. Aside from the paparazzi concept, Gong Yoo has already completed the ‘Modern Boy’ and the ‘Party Boy’ concept shoot. It is said that the photoshoot is one of the finest Gong Yoo has done in his career.

The paparazzi concept has never been used for a coffee shop brand or any other eatery brand, so they have high expectation for the pictorial.

The photoshoot proceeded on the 21st, which was one of the coldest day to date this year and unfortunately on the same day, Gong Yoo was suffering from the flu. However, Gong Yoo insisted on keeping his promise to film on that day and word is the photoshoot staffs were very impressed by his professionalism.

Gong Yoo’s ‘Mango Six’ pictorial will be revealed on December 1st through ‘Mango Six’ official website and the pictorial book will be available in all ‘Mango Six’ stores.

Gong Yoo, ‘Dogani’ opens in the U.S. titled ‘SILENCED’

Gong Yoo‘s movie ‘Dogani’ (aka, Crucible) has premiered in the U.S. with the title ‘SILENCED’.

An insider at the company handling the investment and distribution of ‘Dogani’, relayed that on November11th, Gong Yoo’s movie ‘Dogani’ has opened in the U.S. in 15 theaters with the title ‘SILENCED’.

The English title ‘SILENCED’ has been chosen to represent the story of the movie, the pain and sadness of the characters who were ‘silenced’ and the original cut rated 19+ in Korean is being shown without further editing.

‘Dogani’ had drawn the attention of everyone nationally in Korea as it told the story of disabled children that were brutalized and abused at the hands of the teachers and staff at the specialized school for such children, based on true events.

‘Dogani’ had even resulted in the reinvestigation of the events and has shed light on this social issue bringing about an awareness for the public and the Korean government.

An insider of the movie reports that the American moviegoers also find the movie shocking as had the Korean counterparts.

Lee Yeon Hee Picks Gong Yoo As Her Ideal Type

Actress Lee Yeon Hee revealed the style for her ideal type, and it was someone who is clean and neat.

CableTV OnStyle “Star Magazine” interviewed the actress after her fashion photo shoot. She portrayed her various charms while still pulling pranks and having fun.

During the interview, Lee Yeon Hee picked actor Gong Yoo as her ideal type and further explained, “I prefer men who are neat and look good with just a white t-shirt on. They should still keep their masculine trait with a jacket on. I worked on a drama with Gong Yoo in the past, and I really liked his style.”

Lee Yeon Hee also stated that now she likes cute images but still goes for a more mature vibe for her roles. She added, “I likeed Tang Wei’s role in the movie 'Late Autumn' so I am hoping to try a similar role like that. I want to try a character who can be trendy even with a simple trench coat, chic hairstyle, and makeup.”

"The Crucible" Ranked No.1 Two Weeks in a Row

According to the box office reports, "The Crucible" has been ranked No.1 for two weeks in a row. There were approximately 770,000 viewers in the opening week. From September 30 to October 2, there were 911,179 viewers, bringing a total of 2,501,300 viewers in two weeks. People are wondering how much it will change their society, especially because of the film's subject matter. 

“The Crucible” is based on the true story of a newly appointed teacher, Kang In Ho in a school for the deaf in Gwangju, who reveals the secret violence and tragedy in the lives of his students.  The case went on from 2000-2005, documented into a novel by writer Gong Ji Yong. Gong Yoo plays the teacher. The film also stars Jung Yumi and a cast of young actors who play the students.   

The second ranked movie, "The Client" starring Ha Jung Woo, Park Hwi Soon, and Jang Hyuk had 480,049 viewers, with a cumulative 640,000 viewers throughout its current run. Their audience number was affected by "The Crucible," but it remains on the second spot. "The Client" is expected to do well with the big difference in the numbers of the third ranked movie, "Countdown." 

"Countdown" stars Jeon Do Yeon and Jung Jae Young. Although it is headlined by top stars, it only managed to gather 145,775 viewers, bringing a cumulative 219,271 viewers throughout its run. 

"War of the Arrows" had 91,886 viewers in the week and ranked fourth in the box office. However it has already earned 7,245,651 viewers since the film opened. "Abduction" ranked in fifth, followed by "Kokurino Hills," "Popper's Penguin," "Contagion" and "Killer Elite."

Film "The Crucible" Sparks Anger in South Korea

“The Crucible” is a film adaptation of a book written by Gong Ji Yong, which is based on a true story. The story is about the horrifying rapes of disabled students attending Gwangju Inhwa School, which were perpetrated by some of the school’s staff. The film has had tremendous success, with 1.2 million viewers in its first week.

The crimes came to light in 2005, and began in 2000. While six school officials were indicted, only two of them faced any actual jail time, spending less than a year behind bars. To make matters worse the school is still open, and one of the suspects continues to work at the school to this day.

The film has stirred a lot of anger in South Korea, dominating Twitter feeds and lead to Daum users creating a petition to further investigate the matter that has garnered 440,000 signatures.

Public officials have taken notice of the outrage, re-opening the case and launching a new investigation headed by a special team. South Korea’s ruling party chief, Hong Joon-Pyo, also called for new measures that would ensure that sex offenders can’t get away with their crimes.

"Sex offenders sometimes bend the rules under which they cannot be prosecuted without a complaint by victims. To get lighter punishments, they force the victims to sign an agreement to drop their charges. Such a bad practice should be eradicated," Hong said.

Hopefully this incident leads to stronger protections for victims of sex crimes, as it’s obvious that the current set of laws isn’t doing enough.
