Song Hye Gyo Denies the Rumor that Jo In Sung Rejected Her Dinner Offer

On April 3 during an interview after the ending of SBS’s “That Winter, The Wind Blows,” actress Song Hye Gyomentioned the rumor concerning actor Jo In Sung and herself.

Song Hye Gyo stated, “I have heard this rumor. It involves Jo In Sung rejecting me when I ask him out to eat.”

She continued truthfully, “When I heard it, I asked people, ‘This is about me?’ It wouldn’t feel so unfair to me if I even really asked him to go out for dinner. I can now laugh at the useless rumors most of the time, but sometimes I can’t help but feel like it is unfair. It is even worse when people around me believe the rumors.”

Netizens that heard this news commented, “This rumor doesn’t make sense. Song Hye Gyo is so beautiful,” “It is only a rumor. Please don’t get hurt by it.”

Oh Soo and Oh Young's story comes to an end in this finale episode of That Winter, The Wind Blows. 

I won't make a recap of the last two episodes, but will rather share my views about the ending of the drama. To be honest, I have always said in my earlier post that I was looking for that chemistry between the lead actors JIS and SHK. Though I found it later as the drama progressed, still, there's something lacking between them. I admit how each acted their own characters in an awesome level, but, on the whole, the story left me so many questions until now, I was really hoping they would be answered explicitly on the final episode. Still, I was left confused.

The drama is good, but I, as a drama lover would not consider watching this a second time. Sorry to all Wind Blowers who might happen to read my opinion. I endured and patiently watched until the end, hoping to feel in love with  it. Again, it's because the story did not explain why or how. There are so many characters besides the couple, but their presence weren't justified. Even the death of Moo Chul, for me as a viewer, I don't relate what's the purpose. Secretary Wang's reasons are not disclosed fully. Even Mira's character did not develop in the story, even though I know, she's only one of the cast that should fulfill a character. 

I know, I should be glad that they focused on the love story of the couple, but I was not satisfied. Even the romance was lacking. Jin Sung who was supposed to be the loyal friend to Oh Soo betrayed him in the end by stabbing him. I did not feel good watching the scene. the story needed him to justify Oh Soo's pain but to put a dear friend in that kind of situation just to help his family was so out of character. I'm all for reality, still, it left a bad taste watching two friends betraying one another without reasons or for reasons that are so bull! They may be gamblers, thugs, but even those kind of people won't easily turn away from someone they trust and believe no matter what. And in the end, Jin Sung did not pay for his crime. 

Of all the characters, I can say that Oh Soo has given me positive values and optimism. He evolved from being the trash he admitted he was to a man who is able to make his life a better one. And all because he found the reasons from Oh Young. And underneath that rough character, his inner beauty stays the same until the very end. Protecting and loving those people he trust.

I won't say that it's not a good drama. In other aspect, it made me realize the difficulties a blind person has dealing ones everyday life. 

There are many discussions on how it ended. Some say, it's a happy ending, while some say it's open ending or Oh Soo died. 

Well, here's my opinion as a viewer. 

Honestly, I can say it ended happily if I were to base my conclusion on the last part of the scene between Oh Soo and Oh Young. Their dialogues can convince me it's happening right there and then.

But if I were to analyse Jin Sung and Hee Sun's conversation, and will focus on Jin Sung's facial expressions, well, someone passed away, and it looks like Oh Soo.

So what's mslee's final verdict?

My opinion may differ from many but still, it's a viewer's opinion and trust me I have seen so many dramas before TWTWB.

Oh Young lives. It's the thought of Oh Soo and what could have been if he survived and meet again. The dream of having that kind of conversations with him and the thought of how he would see her after her surgery. I won't focus my discussion about the blurriness of the scene on the ending part. Maybe the director and the writer want to capture those scenery in that romantic way. Or how the world was seen by Oh Young in her new eyes.

But I applaud the writer and the director for making  that scene. It will always have that mystery surrounding the drama. And the happy scene will forever remain in the viewer's memory.

I think the story wants to convey that love won't end just because someone left. Love will stay strong inside one's heart until the time they meet again maybe in another place, another time, another lifetime.

Because love lives inside every ones heart, who has touched them.

Song Hye Kyo thanks the staff of ‘Wind Blows In Winter’ with handwritten letters

With the hit drama ‘Wind Blows In Winter‘ coming to an end, actress Song Hye Kyo made sure to thank the drama’s staff with handwritten letters.

After finishing filming for the finale, Song Hye Kyo personally handed out handwritten notes in her essay book ‘Hye Kyo’s Time‘. A snapshot of one of her letters reads, “Whenever I see your smiling face, there were a lot of times when it made me feel better. Thank you. Because playing my character was difficult and led me to have no time to rest, I am regretful that I couldn’t spend more time with you. Let’s meet again. You did a good job.”

Another staff member shared a snapshot of Song Hye Kyo’s personal message which reads, “You did a good job during the cold winter. Thank you.”

‘Wind Blows In Winter’ will air its finale on April 3rd KST, so stay make sure to grab your tissues for the touching finale!

Jo In Sung and Song Hye Kyo Cry During Final Filming for “That Winter, the Wind Blows”t

The last day of filming for “That Winter, the Wind Blows” was held on March 31. Cherry blossoms decorated the background for the last day of filming. Filming for the drama nearly lasted five months since their first filming in November. It is unknown whether the final scene filmed was the true ending of the drama.

A representative of the production team stated, “The filming that seemed like it would have no end finally finished. Once the sound “Cut” came out, the production team began to shout. Jo In Sung and Song Hye Kyo began to cry that moment. The rest of the production team and also the actors/actresses hugged each other.”

The last episode of “That Winter, the Wind Blows” will broadcast on April 3 at 10pm.

After amassing critical praise and strong viewer reception, SBS‘s drama ‘Wind Blows In Winter‘ is slowly getting ready to wind down its successful run.

The cast members, including Jo In Sung and Song Hye Kyo, were recently spotted filming their final episode inside a restricted army base. Standing underneath a cherry tree in full bloom, the blurry pictures only increase the anticipation and questions for the drama’s last episode.

I will be honest, I have yet to watch TWTWB episode 15. I did not watched it live stream like I used to do. I did it deliberately because I was feeling the episode will break my heart. And I was right when I peek at the thread in soompi. My heart sank when I read what happened in the ending scene. I'm still getting the courage to watch the episode until now. So I just read the recaps. Probably will share my thoughts about the drama after the final episodes next Wednesday. Still hoping for a happy ending, though.

Airs on 28nd, 10pm! :D OY is missing OS, watching drama alone. In the meanwhile, Mr.Kim also encourage JS to participate in illegal gambling with OS. He accepts it and asks to hide his participation to OS. LJ is saying OY that OS left money. "I told him to keep it but he refused. It seems like he really liked you." OY says,"I don't wanna hear anymore. Btw, I wanna go into hospital one day later. They says I have to be healthy but it seems like I got a cold." Having drinking with OS, HS asks,"Why you didn't take the money? Aren't gonna care about your life? U refused the money and gonna gamble again for money?" She got angry. OS says,"When I left her home, I was confident of myself. I loved her and she also loved me. Before I left, she told me that she loved me. But she looked so lonely.." He cries and blames his love. Next morning, OS hesitates to text to OY, but gives up. While walking on street, he sees another blind women and helps her. OY is heading to pizza restuarant with blind children. At the moment, OS sees OY in bus and passes. He stops bus and follows her. MR sees him and tells OY that she saw him. In the meanwhile, MC visited HS but HS doesn't welcome him. MC's co-worker asks him to go to hospital. "No one knows what've tried for them. Even OS, JS and HS. Please care of urself.", he says. But MC ignores it. At that night, OY calls SW, cuz she can't take sleep because of tension of surgery. She imagines OS is reading her a book. Next day, LJ worried that he can't stay with her tonight because of work. But OY comforts him, "Surgery is tmr. That's ok." And OY says SR, "LJ gonna come to hospital around 4pm and u have job interview before 4pm. I want you to go for intervewing." SR hesitates to leave, OY asks her. Then, OY calls hospital and delay the time of her hospitalization. She also let all workers in home to take a vacation. So OY comes to stay in home alone for about 30 minutes. Going back home, LJ continually calls to OY but she doesn't take it. SR and LJ are so worried of her. At that moment, OY calls OS. OS asks her, "Where are you?" Then OY lies,"Now I'm in hospital." OS says,"No, I'm in hospital now." OY says,"Actually I'm home. I'm just scared of lying on cold operating table alone. LJ gonna be here soon." At that moment, OS hears that LJ can't keep in touch with OY. OS feels an emergency and heads to OY's home immediately. When OS tries to catch taxi, MC appears. "I wanted to see if you love her truly. I wanted to say goodbye like we met for the first time." OS says,"I will call you later. Let's talk later." Then he leaves. When MC is walking alone, Mr.Kim's co-worker attacks him. While heading to OY, OS think, 'I had to say OY that I'm sorry and I love you. Let's meet later again. You've been reason for me to keep on living. And I wanted to ask her that if I also can't be reason for you to keep on living.' At the moment when OS arrived, OY lost her consciousness.

Writer Noh Hee Kyung of “That Winter, The Wind Blows” praised Jo In Sung and his attitude toward the drama. Currently, Jo In Sung is starring in “That Winter, The Wind Blows” as Oh Soo. His detailed acting in different emotions and sentiments have been garnering much attention since the drama started. 

Noh Hee Kyung commented on Jo In Sung, “The most memorable line from him happened when we were all gathered for script reading at 1am and Jo In Sung started sobbing as he was saying this one line, that represents all the guilt and emotions Oh Soo was feeling.”

"That Winter, The Wind Blows" will not be extending its run.

Despite its popularity, ‘"That Winter, The Wind Blows" ‘ will not be extended into a longer drama.

Even though it has been enjoying high ratings for its entire run, the producers decided to keep the drama at 16 episodes, and have no plans for extra episodes.

The producers discussed the possibility about extending the drama initially, but, the writer had completed the script to fit 16 episodes, and they ultimately decided that stretching the story over the course of more episodes will harm the pace and story line.

It will air its final episode next week on April 3rd, and will then be followed by ‘Everything About My Relationship‘.

Also, the tvN cable show "SNL Korea" featured a parody of "That Winter, The Wind Blows". Comedians Lee Young Ja and Shin Dong Yup recreated a scene from the drama, adding adult comedy into the scene.

Hallyu star BoA even commented on the drama by updating her personal Twitter page recently, stating, "My brother~ Why are you so different from Oh Soo? Is it because you're my real brother?"

Regarding the countless public references to the drama, a representative of "That Winter, The Wind Blows" stated, "We were very surprised when we saw the parody appear on a different network. I think we can safely say that 'That Winter, The Wind Blows' has become a national drama everybody loves."

Song Hye-gyo donates money for Braille brochure production for Independence museum.

Braille brochures for the Independence Hall of Korea will be printed thanks to actress Song Hye-gyo and scholar Seo Kyung-duk of Sungshin Women’s University.

Seo planned the process for the publication, and Song has foot the bill for the necessary costs.

“In local museums, not so many Braille brochures have been provided for the blind,” said Seo, speaking to local media.

“First we will provide 1,000 copies to the Independence Hall of Korea and then continue to publish more in the future.”

Song said she decided to take part in the project after she played a character who lost her eye sight after suffering from a tumor in the ongoing SBS drama “That Winter, the Wind Blows.”

“After I played a role of a blind woman, I realized how much difficulties they have to face in their daily lives,” said Song.
