[HyunMin couple] KHJ and JSM - Coincidence or Not?

After three years...sorry, I'm not really sure but really, it has been a long time since Playful Kiss, when everything has died down, though I still ship these cute couple, I seldom visits the thread anymore. From time to time, when I am in the mood to make caps and edits, I'd try to see some similar things that connects them.

Now, a chingu from the thread ... @estanyela had posted an amazing edited photos for comparison. But then again, there's really no need. It's there for us to see.

A hint or a just plain coincidence? As a shipper who believed...I'd say it's another hint. Even the color of the couch, the pillows are the same. It has to be the same place or they really have similar taste!

This could be the same place too. Look at the lights shining on MinMin and the glass windows at the back of HJ...at the back of the couch. It could be the same place where MinMin sat in the first pic.

This was the interview/talk session during the fanmeet. Remember, So Min was at the other side and though we did not see her and there was a background song, we can see Hyun Joong always smiling. He was listening to the answers. The important thing about this video is that he was so happy here.

More Oppa-Dongsaeng Items...Nothing Escapes a Shipper's Sharp Eyes!

I love this new developments about my Oppa-Dongsaeng couple. For over two long years, everyone tried hard to find similarities but contented ourselves with the sweet BTS and the fan meetings of Playful Kiss and their presence together were more than enough. Now, when everything is settled and have moved on from Playful Kiss syndrome, [well, almost everyone has] when no more fan meetings to look forward to, when each have their own activities and shows and new on screen partners, some and small coincidences started appearing and noticed by these great shippers who really have sharp eyes. Some based their conclusions on translated interviews. But what's insightful and striking are the photos, though not together, the small things like rings, shirts, drawings, displays and the likes that are recently being noticed and making us shippers guess.


I love these chingus from the thread @soompi. And I as mslee also find a similarity, reaching out from my previous post and looking hard and yes, really, they seemed similar. I am talking about the ring which I was always wondering about whenever So Min wears it on her left thumb. 







Not really that sure but it looks like what HJ was wearing on his Thailand tour during the PressCon..

It was shared at the thread [oppa-dongsaeng] that the right caricature drawing of a girl was So Min posted by Lespapillons in JSM's thread. The image at the back og HJ's tank top was of a girls drawing and looks like the same. He usually wears it during rehearsals.  Do you think it's the same and the shipper's eyes are right?

This outfit was displayed at one of the Jaksal branch! Hmmm...really interesting!


Remember my old post about a collage of HJ's photos on a wall at Jaksal's and a shipper's eyes came across a unique photo among thousands of photos of HJ only. The Pk scene where Ha Ni was lying on a bench with her head on HJ's lap. The one and only photo of HJ with a girl among that collage of photos!

Anyway, just like to share this to you my friends who are still hopeful of HJ and SM being together for real. What's the good thing about it is that as long as there will be small things that connects them a shipper's sharp eyes will surely not miss them! Because nothing escapes them! :))

A shipper of HyunMin/MinJoong/Oppa-Dongsaeng couple, or whatever they are called, definitely I am. Playful Kiss made me one. No rumors surfaced during the filming of PK, not even one photo of them in public outside PK, and yet, I with many shippers are one in thinking that ... maybe there's truth behind the sweet BTS and NG's of Playful Kiss. Dozens of fanmade videos are there in YT, more clear than what every shipper wants to say. As the saying goes, actions speak louder than words!

But all were assumptions, nothing was ever confirmed, except for the on cam cuteness and playfulness they did towards each other.

Two years had passed since the first reading of script of the drama, where they met, Jung So Min and Kim Hyun joong, and I thought that our endless search for something that might connect them were over. But seems that I may be wrong and shippers like sweet08 and eirin101@the thread may be right with their sharp eyes and observations. 

First I will cut a portion of the interview So Min did for Ceci translated by a chingu from JSMthread, tlbpc.

C: How are you when fallen in love?

M: Definitely will not be the one to get close, even if I have love I’d not take the initiative to get close to him but rather as the motivated one and wait for him to come close. But slowly I’ll protect our love relationship, finally at the beginning I wanted to be a fox in the end I become a bear.

This answer  is really something to spazz at even though there was nothing special about it except for the bear part. :)) But still worth pondering, after 2years.

Aww! After watching this cute video, I was smiling to myself as I see Hyun Joong doing all this things...to a big bear! Funny! I laughed when Hyun Joong tried to make the bear eat the food he prepared. Hmmm...kinda reminding me of a scene from his previous drama [Playful Kiss] where Oh Ha Ni. [his wife there and he as Baek Seung Jo] was practicing how to insert a needle to the arm of the big bear. Yeah, so alike. As a MinJoong/Oppa-Dongsaeng couple, my brain is like working overtime. It's the BIG BEAR's fault! Chincha! Why does it always appear, like when HJ did his Asia Tour Fm 2012? :))

Anyway, could not help it, I am a shipper.

How Korean TV drama ‘Playful Kiss’ flopped locally but hit globally

Every TV network executive in Burbank cries into their organic kombucha from time to time about the great show that just couldn’t find an audience, whether it be from unlucky scheduling quirks or creative concepts that were just too far ahead of their time.

And it’s not just a domestic issue — the producers of Korea’sPlayful Kiss saw their youth drama succumb to an inauspiciously short local-TV run back in the fall of 2010, going up against hit time-period competition from My Girlfriend is a Gumiho (“Gumiho” translates into “nine-tailed fox,” a Chinese mythic figure, if that helps).

Like Terra Nova, that Knight Rider remake a few years back, or any show starring Christian Slater,Playful Kiss might have been headed to the junk pile of so-called “broken series” — shows that made it past the pilot stage but didn’t live long enough to accumulate a syndication library. But Playful Kiss is proving to be more like Arrested Development, a low-rated but critically beloved Fox comedy that was such a popular streaming choice on Netflix, the company decided last year to resume production of the show.

Through global TV streaming service ViKi, Playful Kiss has become somewhat of a worldwide sensation, garnering a loyal audience of nearly 7 million viewers and more than recouping a modest production spend of under $1 million several million dollars to make 16 episodes.

According to Razmig Hovaghimian, CEO of ViKi, which is based in Singapore but keeps an office near its Bay Area funding, the show has been streamed more than 70 million times by ViKi users, about 1,400 of whom have used the site’s innovative group subtitling tool to translate the show into 56 languages.

The series, about a quirky high school girl whose family moves into the home of a popular boy she has a crush on following an earthquake, has garnered an audience that’s 70 percent non-Asian, Hovaghimian said. Ample viewership, for example, has come through a ViKi syndication partnership with Hulu in the U.S., while producer Group 8 has already worked with YouTube on a follow-up digital series.

Supplied to ViKi under barter advertising terms, Group 8 has recouped $400,000 in ad revenue to date through the service, while the global exposure of the series has enabled the company to take in another $3.5 million through a dozen foreign broadcast deals.

Sums up Group 8 CEO  Song Byung Joon: ”ViKi helped Playful Kiss find its audience.”
