Started last night and now in episode 5. So far...interesting and funny at the same time. The plot, although I read about it, was a surprise for me. Il Woo is such a cute comedian.

This drama is light and makes me laugh.

tvN's "Flower Boy Ramyun Shop" was a cable drama, but the popularity it garnered made it feel like a broadast drama. In the middle of all this was high school student Cha Chi-soo, also known as actor Jung Il-woo (24).

He told E Daily Star In, "I have a lot of teen fans now. 80% of the people who joined my fan café after "Flower Boy Ramyun Shop" are teens".

"Flower Boy Ramyun Shop" is a romantic comedy drama that reveals the love between Cha Chi-soo, the only heir to a food company, and Yang Eun-bi, the only daughter of a restaurant owner. The way the two meet, as student and student-teacher, then playing hard to get but slowly developing a relationship, is drawn out very pleasantly. The drama ended happily with the two kissing each other.

This comical love story shook up the hearts of teens. Cha Chi-soo's popularity feels no envy against Kim Joo-won (Hyeon Bin) from "Secert Garden".

"There were a lot of older female fans during "High Kick Through The Roof" but it was amazing to see so many girls in uniforms coming to the set of 'Flower Boy Ramyun Shop'".

At first he was worried. There was concern about the viewing percentage as it was a cable drama. However, "Flower Boy Ramyun Shop" ranked first place from the first episode to the sixteenth. The final episode rated 2.86%. Seeing as cable dramas find it hard to even pass 1%, this is a very inspiring result.

Is that why Jung Il-woo hopes that, "If there is a chance I want to try out a character like Cha Chi-soo once again".

"Cha Chi-soo reflects a lot on my own character and creating the role was a lot of fun. The way he drums his fingers on his lips is also a habit of mine. His cocky way of talking also reflected some of my ideas. I think a lot of it was Jung Il-woo".

He also mentioned working with Lee Chung-ah (27). She was the best. He expressed friendliness by calling her a 'simple country girl'. He said, "Despite the three years age difference, we were very comfortable with each other. I didn't think she was older than me".

"Flower Boy Ramyun Shop" is over. However, he plans on coming back soon. He is being talked about for a role in the MBC drama "The Sun and the Moon". He said, "I haven't done a lot of work after my debut. So I think the time from then until now was a waste. I want to be more active next year".

Aigooo!!! I was about to start on this drama of Il woo, but was interrupted for awhile by another K-drama which I  already started and decided to finish watching the rest of the episodes, marathon style!:)) Looking at this article, it seemed that FBRS will be over soon, so I really have to make time to start watching this.

‘Cool Guys, Hot Ramen’ Will Not Be Extended

Cable channel tvN’s hit drama Cool Guys, Hot Ramen is expected to end with 16 episodes on December 20 as planned.

The drama drew attention even prior to its airing with the casting of flower boy Jung Il Woo, Lee Chung Ah and Lee Ki Woo, who′d recently returned from the army.

As the drama stole the hearts of female viewers in the age group of 10 to 30, it exceeded average viewership ratings of 2 percent from the first episode, achieving admirable results for a cable channel drama, which often don′t pass even one percent.

With the growing popularity of the drama, viewers expressed their wishes that the drama would be extended on its comment board and online community sites. A netizen said, “When I think about the end of the drama, I become depressed,” while another netizen commented, “Whenever I watch the show, I feel excited. I’m so curious how the next episode unfolds. I wish the drama would be extended.”

A rep from the drama’s production crew recently told enews, “I’m really thankful that many people love the drama. I saw many comments asking for the extension, but it’s a shame we have to finish it with 16 episodes.” “More exciting stories will be aired in the remaining four episodes, so stay tuned.”

Cool Guys, Hot Ramen is a romantic comedy about rich boy Cha Chi Soo (Jung Il Woo), failed student teacher Yang Eun Bi (Lee Chung Ah) and genius chef Lee Ki Woo. It airs on Monday and Tuesday at 11pm.

Flower Boy Ramyun Shop Earns Top Ratings Thanks to "Jung Il Woo Effect"

Cable drama “Flower Boy Ramyun Shop” (FBRS) aired its first episode on Oct 31, scoring a respectable 1.19% in ratings of households with tvN, Mnet, Olive and OnStyle cable channels, according to AGB Nielsen Research. Analysis of the ratings also revealed that it as the top drama for female viewers aged between 20 to 30. This age group also constitute 30% of viewers when the ratings of the episode peaked at 2.6%. As ratings for cable programs, these figures mark a promising start for the drama.

A tvN spokesman commented that the record ratings could be achieved due to three reasons – vivid, lifelike characters;  a storyline filled with both realistic and fantasy elements; and filmed with stylish on-screen beauty. He also likened the drama as a “romantic comedy assorted gift set” for viewers.

With a setting against an instant noodle “ramyun” shop, the first episode showed the first meeting between lead characters Cha Chi Soo (Jung Il Woo) and Yang Eun Bi (Lee Chung Ah).  If the drama was an "assorted gift set," one of the most coveted gifts must be Jung Il Woo. Even prior to the first episode broadcast, he has attracted much attention for his portrayal of a cunning, harsh rich man’s son who is innocent at heart, earning him the nickname of “New Age RoCo Prince.” ("RoCo" is short for "Romantic Comedy")

Unanimous praise from netizens include, “Who else but our Actor Jung, he really lived up to our expectations,” “Birth of the new generation RoCo King! Today’s episode was really interesting. I’m already smitten with Cha Chi Soo,” “This seems like a drama gently simmering to becoming a hit! Even if only the first episode has just been aired, I don’t think I can sleep, all because of Il Woo!”

The drama airs every Monday and Tuesday at 11pm on tvN.

Jung Il Woo: "If I Don't Work Hard, It Shows."

“1^st Look,” a Korean entertainment lifestyle magazine, covered Jung Il Woo for its ninth volume, out November 17.

In the article, Jung Il Woo talks about his acting philosophy, stating, “If I don’t work hard, it shows. Other people might not be able to notice, but I know. I think, ‘Ah, I didn’t try hard so its not coming out right,’ and this hurts me. So when I start a project, I don’t think about anything else. That way, I feel better about myself. Because I am working hard.”

Jung Il Woo is currently filming for tvN’s popular drama, “Flower Boy Ramyun Shop” which is rating well in terms of a cable drama. The shooting schedule is already nearing a live-shoot style, after only airing six episodes out of its sixteen. So Jung Il Woo has no time to think about anything else, especially dating.

When asked about dating, though, Jung Il Woo revealed, “Before I used to like a more charismatic style but in the past few years, my ideal type has changed. Shall I call it an “angel” style, because she needs to be able to understand that I can’t pay her much attention while I am working.” Because of the unpredictable nature of his career, Jung Il Woo prefers someone who can understand his work, someone who has both a “bright” personality and looks.

Jung Il Woo also talked about his first experience as a stage actor earlier this year for “Beautiful Sunday.” He reflected, “I newly learned how to act through the theater. A lot of my fears disappeared. Through the theater, I got a lot of practice and confidence.”

Jung Il Woo also said that if given the chance, he would like to return to the stage. He can’t forget the feeling that he got from seeing someone cry because of his acting while he was on stage. It seems like the theater helped Jung Il Woo experience the thrill of acting and being able to move someone’s heart.

A New K-Drama for me-Flower Boy Ramyun Shop (꽃미남 라면가게)

It's been a long time since I watched a K-drama...been busy updating this page that I have no time to watch. The other day I was watching Showbiz Korea on tv and I saw this portion where Jung Il Woo and another two Korean stars were being interviewed for their tv series which is Flower Boy Ramyun Shop. Seeing how they interact on tv which was cute, of course, with Il Woo there, I just find myself wondering and curious about their series. The teasers were somehow funny and very modern and my interest on K-drama was once again triggered. It was said that it was being shown on cable simultaneously I think in Korea. [if I'm not mistaken]

Yoon Eun Hye attends Finding Mr. Destiny VIP movie premiere

Together with other Korean co actors YEH was spotted attending the VIP movie premiere of Gong Yoo and Im Soo Jung, Finding Mr. Destiny.

It's a romantic comedy about helping a person find her first love.

During the movie’s press conference on the same day, actor Gong Yoo expressed, “I wouldn’t want to find my first love. I think creating memories is more important.”

Im Soo Jung added, “Everyone has a first love. My memories of my first love are quite vague, unlike Seo Ji Woo’s, who has a very long memory of her first love.”

As a GYEH shipper, that's Gong Yoo and Yoon Eun Hye, (started from Coffee Prince), I am happy to see YEH attends the red carpet premiere this 24th November. It' s like a confirmation of how they still get in touch with one another, like during the times when GY was in the military service and she called him through his radio station unexpectedly.:))

      

      

      

     

My Fair Lady-on soundtrack music video

The following soundtracks were all from the Korean drama My Fair Lady starring Yoon Eun Hye, Yoon Sang-heon and Jeong Il-woo. The video titled Romance MV was performed by Yoon Eun Hye and Yoon Sang-heon. What a lovely melody and their vocal range are perfect.

Helpless was sung by Yoon Sang-heon. So is Take Care of My Love. He is such a talented actor, one who can also sing and not just sing, he has a nice voice and you can feel the emotion behind the song.

I Love You, another official soundtrack of the drama was sang by Narsha ft. Miryo. It was a beautiful song fit for the drama. The rest are also beautiful.

Yoon Eun Hye in My Fair Lady

I started watching My Fair Lady yesterday where Yoon Eun Hye was the lead star in a triangle role with Yoon Sang-heon and Jeong Il-woo, both good looking in their own way.

I like Eun Hye in Coffee Prince despite her lack of make up in the drama, and I really find her beauty refreshing although she was portraying a gay role or assumed by Han kyul, the lead actor opposite Eun Chan (YEH) played by Gong Yoo.

But seeing her in My Fair Lady as Kang Hae Na, looking so stylish, chic and trendy makes her more beautiful. Her role here in the drama is like a princess, pampered and a bit spoiled who is living with her grandfather. Her manner was one of haughtiness and selfish but there was a reason why her character was like that.

I finished watching episode 5 already and Dong Chan (Yoon Sang-heon) was really cute despite his rough character. I also like the other guy, Tae Yoon (Jeong Il-woo), with his fresh and suave character, always smiling. For now I am torn between the two of them but Dong Chan's antics are more favorable because he brings out the funny scenes in the story which made me laugh while watching.

So far, the drama is well written and acted upon, and definitely not boring.

Finally, I finished watching My Fair Lady. Even though the drama is light and funny at the same time, I found myself crying in the last part of episode 15 and in episode 16. There was this part where Hae Na was trying to say goodbye to Dong Chan, she was containing her emotions, trying very hard not to break down and you could feel her anguish as she let go of her love for Dong Chan. As for Dong Chan, he felt Hae Na's difficulty and he saved her from telling him that they would break up by telling her himself that he could not keep his promise to stay by her side.

It's so frustrating to watch these two lovers trying to be level headed while breaking up. Not to add the beautiful song playing in the background. It was so heart wrenching when Hae Na told him that if there would be a next life for them both, she would stay and be with Dong Chan. My tears kept pouring when Hae Na turned away from Dong Chan and walked away.

There was a lump in my throat at the beginning of episode 16 where Hae Na continued her life without Dong Chan. She narrated through her unfinished letter how her days passed by as if Dong Chan was still there at her side. It was as if she was telling him that even though they were apart, in her heart and in her mind, he never really left her. It was a touching moment.

Another part where my tears rolled down unknowingly was when her grandfather passed away silently. There were no more words to utter except call her grandfather while she wept. It was a simple scene yet so heavy.

My Fair Lady is a beautiful story, a story of love despite the odds. I may say that watching it was worth my while.:)
