I just finished watching another korean drama, though it aired around 2008 in Korea, and I am so late to learn about this beautiful epic, still, my time watching this one is worthy. Il Jimae has a beautiful plot, the casts are great and though my favorite couple are Bong Soon (Lee Young Ah) and Yong (Lee Jun Ki), the heart of Il Jimae belongs to En Chae (Han Yo Joo).
On the other hand, I find there is a great chemistry between En Chae and Ja Dol (Park Shi Hoo). I wished they ended together, knowing they don't share the same blood. But then, to make the story end in a memorable way, Yong died, leaving two women with waiting and aching hearts. At least, Bong Soon knew the truth behind the mask and enjoyed many memories with Yong. Unlike En Chae who only knew about the man with the mask and their chance meetings are few. The story never told if En Chae found out later that Yong and the man she loves is one and the same person.
I like the part where Yong never took off his mask even if his love En Chae requested for him to see his face. And then when Yong told Bong Soon that they would start a new life together when he finds his mother. As a romantic, I felt that he knew which girl he loves and which one he wants to protect and be with for a lifetime. Hmmm...just a bit disappointed he wasn't able to carry on with his promise to Bong Soon, who loves him dearly and will do anything for him.
Il Jimae is worth watching...
