Gong Yoo‘s movie ‘Dogani’ (aka, Crucible) has premiered in the U.S. with the title ‘SILENCED’.
An insider at the company handling the investment and distribution of ‘Dogani’, relayed that on November11th, Gong Yoo’s movie ‘Dogani’ has opened in the U.S. in 15 theaters with the title ‘SILENCED’.
The English title ‘SILENCED’ has been chosen to represent the story of the movie, the pain and sadness of the characters who were ‘silenced’ and the original cut rated 19+ in Korean is being shown without further editing.
‘Dogani’ had drawn the attention of everyone nationally in Korea as it told the story of disabled children that were brutalized and abused at the hands of the teachers and staff at the specialized school for such children, based on true events.
‘Dogani’ had even resulted in the reinvestigation of the events and has shed light on this social issue bringing about an awareness for the public and the Korean government.
An insider of the movie reports that the American moviegoers also find the movie shocking as had the Korean counterparts.
