my passion for reading..

a week has passed since i started reading The Pillars of the Earth, and though i find the story interesting and absorbing, still, i only covered over a hundred pages. the story was so complex with the different characters i have to familiarize myself with in order to understand the flow of the story, not to speak of the background plot which was patterned on the 11th century..and lastly, it was difficult for me to conjure and imagine in my head with exactness the scenes from the book. however...it was as if i was looking in the lives of the early people of England, how they live during that times, and the politics happening between church and state.

so far..it was educational at the same time. i plan on finishing the book, with its 900 plus pages. i just have to make time everyday to read at least a hundred pages in between chores and activities i have already planned..not to mention the few hours i spend here in front of the computer.

whew! so many things to do..so little time. a day is not enough for all my responsibilities. yet, i also have to relax to ease my fatigue and irritation and to conquer my nasal allergies which is so making me weak just by dealing with it. this is the time when i really suffer from this allergy, i have no idea what brings it on.

anyway, i miss reading a lot. it is one of my passion and i know it stimulates my brain. so i can not just forget about reading.

for now..these are my random thoughts for tonight. hoping to finish The Pillars of the Earth and soon write my thoughts about it.

a movie that i watched more than 3times...

Legends of the Fall, Romantic Movie Review & Trailer

This is one of the most sad, touching but wonderful movies ever. It offers love, war, daily life and love and anger within a family. See great actors such as Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins in this unforgetable movie.

one of my favorite drama...

the piano...

i found myself gliding my fingers against the smooth keys of my old piano. i touched a key, a high note sound rang..

it's been a while, a decade..? yes, a decade since i sat in front of this piano and played my favorite piece. what was it? ahhh...endless love by lionel richie and diana ross. and another one, an opm, you by basil valdez. hmmm...hmmm....

i remember when i was just 7 years old, my mother enrolled me in a piano lessons, an old lady living a block from our house would be my tutor. she was very regal looking, always dressed in a long gown, a peasant dress, what i used to call it. she walked elegantly, though she was already sporting grey hair that time. her manicured nails was painted red, but she played her old piano smoothly. at first i was afraid and intimidated..but soon i learned that she was a nice lady.

i was excited then, learning my first do-re-mi. i was not alone, there were more students that time, although i was one of the youngest. i used to watch other kids play difficult pieces and envy them. but soon , i learned that i could also play them and i was good.

i continued my studies for 3years until my parents bought me my own piano. i stopped my lessons then and learned more by myself. it's hard work, playing a piano and mastering the piano pieces. gradually, i stopped playing everyday..just twice a week, until i just played when i feel like or when there was an occasion like celebrating someone's birthday or anniversary, or when there were visitors present.

as years passed by, my old piano was abandoned and...some keys would not play anymore, some were off keys already, out of tune. now as i grazed my fingers along the yellowish keys, i felt a little regret. regret for the lost times. i used to pour my emotions whenever i play the piano. it's like letting go of my raw emotions. now, though i wanted badly to play, it would not play, the keys were all stuck, weird sounds coming from it even though i tried to punched the right key.

it's like missing my childhood. a time when i was just a little girl, carefree, so protected against the harshness of the world. i miss those times. i miss being that 7 year old once again. i miss playing my piano. wish i could turn back the time, so i'l just sit in front of the old piano of my elegant teacher, eager to learn more, to play more...

i am a tennis fan...

through the years, i have been a tennis fan since i saw pete sampras played on the grass @wimbledon. i have followed his career through the 90's till the year he decided to retire. wimbledon is my favorite tournament, US Open only second. sampras was my favorite of them all, being the 7time wimbledon champion and 14grandslam in his career. i was so sad to see him loose to roger federer that time in wimbledon 2001..but i guess, it was his time to leave. he had a great and amazing years and his awesome moves will forever be remembered. he was one of the greatest tennis player of his time..and a legend on his own.

now, it is 2010 and wimbledon is once again open. i have my favorites now...well, i can not help but like roger federer, for his strong performance and having 6wimbledon titles and 15grandslam. he is a great successor for my pete sampras. and then there is andy roddick, with his childish temper but with goodlooking personality. i like his serves...so powerful. he serves more mph than pete. his highest was 155mph so far.

in womens division, i like justine henin and kim clijsters. before, it was lindsay davenport and martina hingis.

below are some videos i liked from youtube.com and some were highlights from wimbledon 2010.

coffee..my own addiction

a life without coffee must be very lethargic. for someone like me who will never have a day complete without at least 5 cups of my daily caffeine, i know it is my own kind of addiction. whether it is bad or good for my health, i know i can not live without coffee. it makes me irritable when morning comes and there is no hot water in the thermos. i like instant coffee. it's easy to make and besides i have my favorite brand.

my brother sent many packs of coffee from Italy. it's not instant, but it's good that i have my percolator. the taste is good actually, stronger than i was used to, but tasteful.

if some have their own favorites...me..i'm content with a steaming cup of coffee. i have read that it is not really bad for the health. actually, there are good effects also, but i'll let the internet tell you all about it. i am just thinking about coffee right now even though it's past 10 in the evening and i'm almost ready to sleep. actually, i am craving to make one...haha..but i'l pass. tomorrow is Sunday and i have to wake up early.

for now...these are my thoughts.
almost weird but it's where my mind wanders.
