Actor Cha Seung Won is carefully reviewing possible appearance on the drama ‘The King’.
Cha Seung Won is currently staying in Japan and revealed in a phone conversation with Star News on January 10th, “I am carefully reviewing the role in ‘The King’.”
Cha Seung Won stated further, “I am currently reviewing the script. I think the decision will be made soon.”
Ha Ji Won has been confirmed as the female lead for ‘The King’ already. ‘The King’ is a romantic comedy with the proposition that there is a king in Korea and the prince who is a younger brother of the king receives the mission to marry a woman who is a former North Korean special agent played by Ha Ji Won.
Jo In Sung had been mentioned as the possible male lead previously which would have made it possible for Ha Ji Won and Jo In Sung to reunite after ‘What Happened in Bali’ in 2004 but Jo In sung confirmed that he will not appear on the drama at the beginning of December, 2011.
Lee Jae Kyu PD of ‘Beethoven Virus’ and writer Hong Ji Ah are working together drawing much attention in the industry. Now that one of the top stars Cha Seung Won is considering the lead role opposite much loved Ha Ji Won, it is drawing all eyes.
Cha Seung Won is referred to as ‘The Emperor of Romantic Comedy’ after his role as ‘Dok Go Jin’ on‘The Greatest Love’.
‘The King’ is scheduled to air on MBC starting March.
Cha Seung Won went to Japan to attend the dramatic concert for drama ‘Athena: The Goddess of War’on January 5th. Cha Seung Won’s popularity was clear as the fans in Japan went wild at his appearance.

Dokko Jin and Ha Ji Won Together on The King?
Yesterday we reported that Ha Ji Won has now confirmed that she will be appearing on the new drama “The King.” Currently she is in final negotiations. Last year MBC had a bit of bad luck with the male lead, because they put out press releases that Jo In Sung would be joining the drama, but he later declined.
Currently a representative of Cha Seung Won (Who played Dokko Jin on “Greatest Love”) stated, “Cha Seung Won is currently reading the script in a positive light. Soon he will decide whether he will appear on the drama or not.”
Currently, Cha Seung Won is deciding between three dramas! If he decides to appear in “The King” this will be had been a year since his last MBC drama, “Greatest Love.” “The King” is about a marriage between a North Korean Special Forces female marrying a prince of South Korea.

update news about this article...

The Greatest Love- [mslee's thoughts]

A chanced meeting between a top star actor [celebrity] and a has been star from an idol group that already disbanded 10 years ago surrounded by scandals. A series of unfortunate encounters that somehow led to developing a deeper feeling towards each other. Cha Seung Won's character [Dokko Jin] is an arrogant, successful actor who firstly denied what he truly felt for Gu Ae Jung [Gong Hyo Jin] but because of her inner beauty and her humble character who not only thinks of herself but tried protecting those around her made Dokko Jin finally succumb to her charm.

I watched this story patiently and after a while, the characters appeal finally grew on me. A romantic comedy  that made me laugh, but at the same time, tugged my heart. I first saw Cha Seung Won in a spy drama where he played the villain and he was a good actor, but seeing this lighter side of him, his charm is truly amazing. As for Gong Hyo Jin, she played a plain character, not emphasizing her beauty, and yet she shines. Her simple character represents those who struggled everyday just doing their work to make it each day while protecting her love ones and being a good friend, not betraying them even though she would have to suffer the consequences. A misunderstood person.

There were some highlights in the story but my favourites were when Gu Ae Jung at last admitted her feelings to Dokko Jin and when Dokko Jin in an interview revealed her feelings for Gu Ae Jung despite the antis or the   fans reactions.

This story somehow reveals the BTS or what happens inside the world of celebrities. And it's amazing when you find that special love amidst the chaos and bright lights that surrounds you. Because after all, when night time comes and the spotlight has turned off, you are just one of the normal human being and you also need love from someone who will make you feel different and true as a person.

I think that this story  tells it and fame is not the ultimate thing that can make you happy.
