Hyun Bin's Past Role as a Reenactor Surfaces


Top star Hyun Bin is receiving the spotlight lately for a past role he had as a reenactor.

Hyun Bin was a reenactor on a TV program from SBS "Surprise Storyland" which was aired July 2002 to January 2003.

This show reenacts myths and mystical tales from cities all over South Korea. Hyun Bin was cast as a ghost on the third episode, "The Truth of the Lodge -- Santaegol's Story" with gagwoman Park Bodre.

Hyun Bin's fresh and young image can be seen in comparison to today's romantic and sweet image as portrayed in SBS “Secret Garden”, which aired November 2010 to January 2011.

Several netizens' comments include, "This is the reason why he climbed up to the top star position, he wasn't picky with his roles," "he's handsome then and now," "this helped him grow as a great actor," and "I hope he gets discharged from the army soon."

Hyun Bin hit his stardom when he appeared as Hyun Jin Heon in the 2005 drama “My Name is Kim Sam Soon” with Kim Sun Ah. The drama reached its popularity and earned an average rating of over 37% and 50.5% for the finale.

As of April 2011, Hyun Bin joined the Marine Corps for mandatory military training and service.
